You may have heard news over the weekend about tank failures at a San Francisco area fertility clinic affecting some of the frozen eggs and embryos stored at that facility. We wanted to take a moment to assure you that Laurel Fertility Care was not the facility reported.
As a standard and critical part of our operations, we regularly inspect all of our equipment for proper function and ensure that each of our storage tanks remain filled each day. We have added a layer of protection with the installation of a wireless temperature alert system that calls all embryologists if a change in temperature is detected.
While we have not experienced any failures in our equipment, we’ll continue to look for system redundancy opportunities and keep abreast of technology updates as they may occur. We use the highest standards to regularly maintain our equipment, and we will remain vigilant to ensure that a similar situation does not occur in our facility.
Please know that the safety and viability of your embryos and eggs are of the utmost importance to us, and we are committed to providing a safe environment for your future family planning. If you have any other concerns please do not hesitate to contact us.
