Fertility Medications

Medications are usually part of infertility treatments and, depending on the diagnosis and patient goals, can be the sole treatment or used in conjunction with other treatments to achieve pregnancy. The fertility medications can be prescribed for an IVF treatment cycle, to control and encourage the recruitment of more eggs than are present in a normal cycle, treat hormonal conditions in patients with abnormal cycles, or prepare the body for other treatments. Most of the medications are administered by injection and mimic and amplify the body’s own natural hormones or supply a hormone similar to the ones produced by your body during the egg recruitment process so that we may increase your chances of conception and having a successful pregnancy.
