Donor sperm is an excellent option for couples who face such as azospermia (no sperm), low sperm count or low motility and for couples where the male partner may be a carrier of a genetic disease. It is also a solution for women without a male partner who desire a child.
Donor sperm specimens are obtained from reputable nationally-accredited sperm banks where they are carefully screened for motility, sperm count and specific genetic diseases then cryogenically stored. These specimens can be used for (intra-uterine insemination) and in smaller samples for and other ART procedures.
At Laurel Fertility Care, we have worked with a number of sperm cyrobanks. The list below is a partial list of the cryobanks patients have chosen in the past. We recommend that you research donor agencies thoroughly and check if they are registered with the FDA.
