Fertility Yoga
Fertility and Restorative Yoga are the only recommended yoga classes for patients trying to conceive. Avoid Bikram yoga unless you are already a regular Bikram attendee. The idea is not to stress your body out in an attempt to get pregnant, but rather to de-stress as much as possible. Be sure to tell the teacher that you are trying to conceive. The teacher can then lead the class keeping in mind that there are some poses which you should not do.
Restorative and Fertility yoga thought to increase blood flow to the uterus, as well as decrease stress. There are few clinical studies on effectiveness, however, anecdotal information shows it to be somewhat promising. If you should choose to add fertility yoga to your regime, we recommend the following practitioners:

Santosha means “contentment” in Sanskrit. I interpret santosha as the capacity to be fully alive and present in each moment, no matter what is going on around us. Instructor Marie Murphy offers three main types of services which are best utilized in combination: therapeutic massage and bodywork, private yoga instruction, and nutritional guidance. The synergy of these three approaches yields powerful results, and services are custom-tailored to each individual’s needs.

Our mission is to provide a supportive space for women and men to gently and naturally prepare their bodies, minds and spirits to receive their child.
The time before conception provides a unique opportunity to pause and turn inwards. As we begin to cultivate the soil, we are invited to delve deep. What are we allowing in our lives that is no longer serving us? Are we eating nourishing foods? Are we drinking pure water? Are we taking care of our bodies? What about our hearts and spirits?
